In 2002, Dr. Amélie Bourget graduated from the Université de Montréal, where she specialized in plastic and cosmetic surgery. After graduating from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 2007, she went on to further specialize in reconstructive microsurgery, spending one year at the highly reputed Chang Gung Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan, under the supervision of Professor Fu Chan Wei, a world-renowned plastic surgeon. While in Taiwan, she became particularly interested in facial and breast reconstruction for cancer patients having undergone surgery.
She has been practicing at the Charles-LeMoyne Hospital since 2008. As Department Head, she has assembled a team of talented, versatile plastic surgeons. She primarily treats patients with deformities resulting from cancer treatments, as well as patients who have suffered trauma to the face, hands, legs or nerves. The Charles LeMoyne Hospital is affiliated with the Université de Sherbrooke, where Dr. Bourget is an Assistant Professor of clinical teaching and actively participates in the training of medical students and residents.
