Lower eyelid correction, or lower blepharoplasty, is a way of removing the excess skin and fat under the eyes that cause wrinkles and bags. The procedure involves an incision in the eyelid, directly under the eyelashes, or inside the eyelid. An additional procedure during the same surgery can be carried out if the lower eyelid turns out and exposes too much of the white under the iris (ectropion). This procedure is called canthopexy and is used to restore the lower eyelid to its normal position.
